The Corinthian Women
Brief History
The Women’s Auxiliary, currently known as The Corinthian Women (TCW), was formed in 1961 by a group of Corinthian women. Its purpose was to focus on issues of interest to women and families of the Club. As years progressed, the organization’s agenda expanded to include: planning children’s events, Holiday decorating and the Egg Nog party; sponsoring sailing education and regattas; arranging new member welcoming receptions and an annual Fashion Show. The ladies manage the Club store and assist other committees in maintaining Club traditions.
At the December, 1993 annual meeting of The Corinthian Yacht Club Women’s Auxiliary, the organization’s name was changed and formally adopted as The Corinthian Women (TCW). The consensus of the Auxiliary Board was that it was time to come up with a more up-to-date name reflecting the times… New bylaws were created governing The Corinthian Women.
The Corinthian Women continue to welcome all Corinthian women members to attend their meetings and become active in their activities.
