Nothing evokes the sea like a tall ship, traditionally constructed from sweet-smelling wood, resiny pine pitch, and hempen rope.  On June 6, we'll hear about a pair of programs that will set any sailor's mind to racing:  the construction and operation of new vessels in traditional methods.  The boats will be used for educational purposes.  A fascinating talk and a worthy cause.  Check it out!

CYC members:  The Cup is Coming, the Cup is Coming.  Among the events surrounding this fantastic opportunity is the Corinthian Louis Vuitton Cup Challengers' Ball, to be held July 27.  Black Tie or Club Blazer, consuls from the challenging countries, the actual LV Cup will be there for photo ops.  Not to be missed.

For those who might want to get out on the water, the Rear Commodore is gaugeing interest in getting out on one of the stakeboats for the LV or AC34 races.  This would be a full spectator experience.  Visit the page to find out more or to register your interest in a possible charter.
